Ftse Uk UK FTSE Share Gone Down Why?

UK FTSE share gone down why? - ftse uk

I read the article in Yahoo, but the first paragraph confused me. I will copy below. Basically, why the U.S. market on Friday, 19 October caused the FTSE down Monday, 22 October, and what are the uncertainties that will explain these errors and uncertainties that could cause closer. (Why the U.S. housing market to do it please?)

Thanks

FTSE lower fears of growing U.S. --
By Dominic Lau Reuters - 2 hours 1 minutes
LONDON (Reuters) - The top share index shed nearly 1.4 percent in the mid-session on Monday after a new global stock decline sparked concerns that the crisis in the U.S. housing market could hamper growth in the first world economy .

"The market uncertainty and the question of the amount of rain from the subprime crisis does not know hate," said Richard Hunter, head of UK Equities at Hargreaves Lansdown.

Hunter added that one third of FTSE 100 companies had an important contribution to U.S. business. "What happens in the U.S. economy can not simply be ignored or swept under the carpet "elsewhere," he said.

U.S. stocks fell on Friday, marking the sharpest decline in two months, weighed by Caterpillar warned that the housing crisis has infected the economy in general, while Asian stocks also fell during the night.
